Curry Spiced Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. rice (uncooked)
    2 tsp. allspice, ground
    1/2 tsp. curry powder
    1/4 tsp. turmeric
    3 c. hot water
    1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Preparation
    In 3-quart casserole dish, combine onion and butter.
    Cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap; microwave on High for 3 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients; cover and microwave on High for 5 minutes.
    Stir well.
    Cover and microwave for another 20 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
    Let stand 4 to 5 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings.
