Ingredients

1 lb. chopped dates
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. water
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine dates, 1/2 cup sugar and water.
Bring to boil; add nuts and cool.
Cream butter; add brown and white sugars.
Add eggs.
Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and salt.
Add to butter.
Chill. Roll out dough.
Spread with date mixture.
Roll back up.
Let chill.
Cut and bake at 350\u00b0 about 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes approximately 5 dozen.
