Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and beat.
    Combine cocoa and food coloring to make a paste.
    Stir into creamed mixture. Sift flour and salt together. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Blend well; add vanilla. Combine vinegar and soda.
    While still foaming, add to the batter.
    Do not beat, instead stir gently. Bake in two greased and floured layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
