My Mother'S Molasses Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda (baking)
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. hot water (added last)
Preparation
    Mix all together and beat well.
    Bake 45 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven in 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
