Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening (part butter or margarine)
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. plain yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 c.)
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Mix shortening, sugars, yogurt and vanilla thoroughly.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
(For a softer, more rounded cookie, add 1/4 cup more flour.)
Stir dry ingredients together; blend in.
Mix in chocolate chips.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until delicately browned. (Cookies should still be soft.)
Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
Makes about 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
