Plain Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine milk, egg and shortening.
Sift together dry ingredients and mix with liquid mixture, blending together with 25 to 30 strokes.
Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full.
Bake in preheated oven at 400\u00b0 15 minutes for small muffins or 30 minutes for large muffins.
Yields 12 large or 20 small muffins.
