Cream Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg and 1 egg yolk, well beaten
    1/3 c. light cream
    1 egg white, slightly beaten
    sugar
Preparation
    Combine first four ingredients in mixing bowl; stir to blend. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Add egg and cream all at once and stir until all flour is dampened.
    Then mix until the dough forms a soft ball and pulls away from sides of bowl.
    Turn out on lightly floured board and knead 30 seconds. Roll 1/2-inch thick and cut into squares or triangles.
    Place on ungreased baking sheet.
    Brush tops lightly with egg white and sprinkle with a little sugar.
    Bake in hot oven (450\u00b0) for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 12.
