Mandarin Orange Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. plain gelatin
    1/4 c. cold water
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. orange Jell-O
    2 c. boiling water
    1 pt. orange sherbet
    2 cans mandarin oranges, drained
Preparation
    Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water.
    Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water; add both Jell-O and gelatin together and stir.
    Add syrup from oranges.
    Stir.
    Add sherbet and chill until partially thickened.
    Fold in oranges.
    Pour into mold.
    Add maraschino cherries, if desired.
