Grandma'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 1/4 c. unsifted flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. cocoa
    2 tsp. soda
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, cream shortening, sugar, salt and vanilla.
    Add eggs and beat with mixer until mixture is very light and creamy.
    Add flour and buttermilk and beat 2 more minutes. In small mixing bowl, mix cocoa, soda and hot water.
    Add to rest of batter.
    Put into 3 (8-inch) round pans or 1 (9 x 12 x 2-inch) loaf pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes.
