Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 to 30 small cucumbers
    8 large onions
    2 sweet peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. water
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and slice; chop onions and peppers.
    Let stand for 3 hours with salt over them; drain.
    Combine vinegar, water, sugar and spices.
    Bring to boil; add cucumbers.
    Heat thoroughly, but don't boil.
    Pack while hot.
