Fresh Apple Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
3 c. unsifted flour (all-purpose)
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. grated fresh lemon rind
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. grated pared apple (1 large)
3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation

In large
bowl,
cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs. Mix flour, soda, baking powder, salt, lemon rind, nuts, spices and grated apple.
Blend into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Turn
into
a greased and floured 9 x 5-inch pan. Bake in preheated
350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
Makes 1 loaf.
