Chicken Marengo(Serves 8) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 fryer chickens (2 1/2 lb.), cut up
    2 tsp. shortening
    1 can sliced mushrooms
    2 medium cloves garlic, minced
    1 lb. onions
    1/3 c. flour
    1 can tomatoes
    1/4 c. parsley
    2 bay leaves
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. white wine
Preparation
    Brown chicken in shortening.
    Remove.
    Add next 3 ingredients and saute until golden.
    Stir in flour.
    Add chicken and wine. Simmer 40 to 45 minutes until tender or use crock-pot.
