Golden Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg or 1/2 tsp. each
    1/4 c. oil
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients.
    Mix well with fork.
    Heat oil or Crisco 2 inches deep in deep-fat fryer or a kettle.
    Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into hot oil.
    Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes.
    Remove to paper towels to drain.
    May be rolled in sugar.
    To make a fruit puff add 1/2 cup shredded
    apple to the batter.
