Lemon Cheese Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    grated rind of 1 lemon
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 stick oleo
    1 or 2 drops yellow food coloring
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add beaten egg, water, lemon juice and rind. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and clear. Add oleo and the food coloring.
    Will ice 2 layers of plain cake.
