Spanish Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. (3/4 lb.) garbanzo beans
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 beef bone (optional)
    1 to 2 chorizo (Spanish)
    pinch of saffron
    water
    1/2 lb. potatoes, diced
    4 oz. bacon
    1 ham bone or hock
    2 oz. olive oil
    1/2 lb. ham, diced
Preparation
    Cover beans by 1 inch and soak.
    Drain beans, recover with water, add meat bones and cook until tender.*
    Fry bacon and onion in olive oil, add to beans.
    Thinly slice chorizo, add to beans. Add diced potatoes, ham, salt and saffron.
    Cook to desired consistency.
