Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Cream sugar, salt and butter thoroughly.
Beat egg and vanilla into mixture until light and fluffy.
Sift together flour and baking powder.
Gradually stir into creamed mixture.
Roll dough 1/8-inch thick on floured surface.
Cut, using cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 9 to 10 minutes or until light brown around edges.
Makes about 5 dozen.
