Holiday Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. liquid (orange or pineapple juice) or 1/4 c. both or 1/4 c. either and 1/4 c. water
    1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
    salt to taste
    4 or 5 medium yams, partially cooked, peeled and sliced
    cinnamon (optional)
Preparation
    Combine sugar and starch. Blend well. Stir in liquid, butter and salt. Simmer over low heat, stirring constantly, until begins to thicken. Place yams in lightly greased 2-quart casserole. Add sauce. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Serves 6.
