Banana Cream Walnut Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3 egg whites
    12 crackers, finely crushed (plain crackers as saltines, wheat, etc.)
    2/3 c. chopped walnuts
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 or 3 ripe bananas
    1 c. whipping cream
    2 Tbsp. confectioners sugar
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Sift sugar and baking powder together.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Beat in sugar mixture.
    Fold in crackers, walnuts and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
    Spread onto a buttered 9-inch pie dish. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    (Torte will not brown.)
    Cool in dish.
