Cherry Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    2 egg yolks
    glaced or well-drained maraschino cherries, cut into quarters
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and salt.
    Add flavorings and egg yolks.
    Blend well.
    Stir in flour until well mixed.
    Quickly roll dough into long cylinder, 1-inch in diameter, and cut into 1/2-inch lengths.
    Form balls from cut pieces; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Press a quarter cherry into center of each.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes to a golden brown.
