Winter Day Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 diced onion
    1 to 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 bay leaf
    1 to 2 Tbsp. basil
    1 to 2 Tbsp. curry powder
    2 to 3 qt. stock or water
    1 c. mung beans
    1 c. split peas
    1 c. limas
    1 grated carrot
    1 diced potato
    2 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce
Preparation
    Combine the last 7 ingredients in a soup pot; boil 10 minutes. In the meantime, saute the first 5 ingredients until onion is clear.
    Add to soup pot.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Serve over toasted French bread.
