Mile High Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. plain flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt, mixing well.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles
coarse meal.
Combine egg and milk.
Add to flour mixture,
stirring\tuntil dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough
out onto a lightly floured surface.\tKnead 8 to 10 times. Roll
dough to 1 inch thickness.
Cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 15 minutes until brown.
