Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. rolled quick or regular oats
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Combine boiling water and oatmeal; cover and let stand 20 minutes.
    Beat until fluffy the butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla.
    Add oatmeal mixture and mix well.
    Add sifted dry ingredients.
    Pour into well-greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 55 minutes.
    Do not remove from pan. Top immediately with frosting.
