Taffy(Swedish Style) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/3 c. granulated sugar
    1 1/3 c. cold water
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. peppermint extract
    few drops red food coloring
Preparation
    Place ingredients, except flavoring and coloring, into a 3-quart saucepan.
    Stir until sugar is partly dissolved, then wipe sides down with a damp cloth to remove any crystals.
    Heat to rapidly boiling and cook briskly, without stirring, to 270\u00b0 (soft crack).
