Self Iced Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
5 or 6 apples, sliced
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Combine first 4 ingredients; add shortening, egg, milk and vanilla.
Mix well; add apples.
Pour into 12 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
