Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening (can use shortening and butter)
1 c. granulated sugar
4 Tbsp. mild flavored molasses
1 egg
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
Preparation

Mix 1 cup flour with dry ingredients.
Mix 1 cup flour and liquid ingredients.
Mix well.
Make 2 balls and chill.
Make small balls and roll in granulated sugar.
Place on ungreased baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
