Pepparkakor Cookies From Kirsten'S Cookbook - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    3 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. maple syrup
    1 Tbsp. water
    extra flour (for rolling out dough)
Preparation
    Sift together into bowl the measured flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
    In larger bowl, stir sugar and softened butter.
    Add the egg, maple syrup and water to the butter and sugar; beat until fluffy.
    Stir the dry ingredients into the mixture, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    Chill the dough in refrigerator 1 hour.
