8 Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 c. shredded lettuce
    1 small purple onion, chopped
    1 pkg. frozen peas, cooked and chilled or 2 small cans, drained
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    bacon bits
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Layer in order:
    Lettuce, celery, carrots, onion and peas. Spread mayonnaise on top.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Top with bacon bits, then cheese.
    Cover and chill 4 to 6 hours.
    Do not stir before serving.
    Keeps several days.
    Serves 8 to 9.
