Irish Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. water
    6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
    2 onions, sliced
    1 carrot, sliced
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1 clove
    1/2 c. scalded milk
    1/2 c. scalded cream
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Boil the water in a saucepan.
    Add potatoes, carrot, onions, thyme, bay leaf and clove.
    Cover over low heat for 45 minutes. Force the mixture through a sieve.
    Add milk, cream, salt and pepper.
    Cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
    Correct seasoning. Serve hot.
