Mulled Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. cider
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    4 sticks cinnamon
    6 whole allspice
    2 red apples
Preparation
    Bring cider to boil; add the spices which have been tied in a cheesecloth bag.
    Boil for 3 minutes.
    Cool and remove spice bag. When ready to serve, bring to a boil and serve at once.
    Garnish with a ring of unpeeled red apple stuck with whole cloves.
    Good for a wassail bowl on Christmas or New Year's Day.
