Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    oil (for frying)
    4 or 5 firm green tomatoes, sliced
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a shallow bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour and sugar. Dredge
    both sides of the tomatoes (sliced in 1/2-inch slices) in mixture. Press slices firmly into cornmeal mixture to make a good coating.
