Ding Bats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. Rice Krispies
    coconut
    1 pkg. dates, chopped
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix margarine and sugar.
    Add well beaten egg and package of chopped dates.
    Cook together over low heat until dissolved.
    Add 1 cup chopped pecans and cook 8 minutes longer, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla; stir. Add Rice Krispies and mix well.
    Form in small balls and roll in flaked coconut.
    These may be made in advance and frozen or refrigerated for days.
