Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. light Karo
    1/2 c. water
    1 lb. raw peanuts
    1 Tbsp. oleo
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup and water in large saucepan or Dutch oven.
    Cook over low heat until 230\u00b0 to 234\u00b0 on candy thermometer. Add peanuts.
    Stir constantly until thermometer reaches 290\u00b0. Remove from heat.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Mix well.
    Spread onto buttered pan; cool.
    Break into pieces.
