Vanilla And Sour Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. low-fat sour cream
    4 egg whites, beaten until stiff
    sour cream or white frosting
    coconut for garnish
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and lightly flour 2 (8-inch) pound cake pans.
    Prepare vanilla sugar by stirring 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla into 1 cup sugar until well blended.
    Beat together the sugar mixture and butter until mixture is creamy.
    Add remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
    Add to sugar mixture alternately with sour cream, beating just until mixed.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold into cake mixture.
