Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    6 egg whites, beaten until frothy
    2 c. Ritz crackers, crumbled (1 stack pack)
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
    2 tsp. vanilla
    8 oz. Cool Whip
    1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz.)
Preparation
    Add sugar and cream of tartar gradually to egg whites.
    Beat until stiff.
    Fold in crackers.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan (glass pan looks nice) at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool. While cooling, will fall some.
