Boiled Custard(My Grandmother'S Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk
    1 large can milk
    10 eggs, separated
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Pour milk in double boiler and scald.
    Mix egg yolks, sugar and salt together.
    Add 4 tablespoons cornstarch.
    Mix and add to scalded milk.
    Cook on low heat; stir until thick.
    Cool and fold in beaten egg whites and vanilla.
    Cool before serving.
