Cracker Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped pecans
    16 saltine crackers, crushed
    3 egg whites
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    3/4 c. sugar
    grated coconut
    8 oz. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix chopped pecans and crushed crackers in large bowl and set aside.
    In small mixing bowl, beat egg whites, salt, vanilla and Karo syrup until stiff.
    Add sugar.
    Fold mixture in with pecans and crushed crackers.
    Bake in 9-inch greased pie pan at 325\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes until golden.
    It will sink as it cools.
    Let cool completely, then top with Cool Whip and grated coconut. Refrigerate.
    Yield:
    1 pie.
