Delmonico Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium potatoes, cooked, peeled and cubed
    2 cans mushroom or celery soup
    2 cups milk or evaporated milk
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 onion, chopped, sauteed
    1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
    1/2 c. crisp real bacon bits
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
    butter
Preparation
    Place potatoes in casserole dish.
    Mix soup and milk until smooth.
    Add salt, pepper, onion and 1 c. cheese.
    Add to potatoes. On top, place remaining cheese, bacon bits and bread crumbs.
    Dot with butter.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
