Nanie And Charlene'S Orange Slice Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 lb. chopped dates
    1 lb. orange slice candy
    1 c. flaked coconut
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until smooth.
    Beat eggs, one at a time.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add to creamy mixture.
    Place flour in large bowl.
    Add dates, orange candy and nuts.
    Stir to coat.
    Add flour and coconut to mixture.
    This will make a stiff mixture and should be mixed by hand.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    After cake is done, mix Glaze.
