Pickled Carrots And Zucchini - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 inches stick cinnamon
    3 medium carrots, cut strips
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 whole cloves
    1 medium zucchini, cut strips
Preparation
    In saucepan mix sugar, vinegar, water, mustard seed, cinnamon and cloves.
    Add carrots, cover and simmer until carrots are crisp-tender.
    Add zucchini strips, return to boiling.
    Transfer mixture to bowl.
    Cover and chill at least 8 hours.
    Makes 3 cups.
