Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 c. margarine or 2 sticks
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. buttermilk *
2 tsp. baking soda
4 c. sifted flour
3 large bananas, mashed up
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 Tbsp. warm water
2/3 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 c. melted butter
1 beaten egg (for basting)

Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Scald milk and cool to lukewarm.
Combine yeast, milk and one teaspoon of sugar in a large bowl.
Sift in 1/2 cup of flour.
Stir until flour is dampened.
Cover bowl with a clean cloth and set in a warm place for about one hour.
