Refried Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dried pinto beans
    8 oz. salt pork, chopped
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
Preparation
    Soak beans in water to cover in bowl overnight.
    Drain.
    Add boiling water to cover and salt pork.
    Simmer for 2 hours or until tender.
    Stir in chili powder, garlic and salt.
