Chocolate Chip Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/3 c. margarine, softened
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (unsifted, spoon into measure and level off)
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugar, egg and vanilla.
    Stir in remaining ingredients with a wooden spoon.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
    Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
    Enjoy with a cold glass of milk or ice cream.
