Best Yet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    1 (3 oz.) vanilla instant pudding
    1 c. coconut
    1 (8 oz.) carton prepared whipped topping
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Bake cake mix as directed on box in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Meanwhile, simmer pineapple and sugar.
    Remove cake from oven. Punch holes in it with handle of wooden spoon and cover with pineapple mixture; chill.
    Mix instant pudding as directed on box.
    Add coconut.
    Spread the mixture over pineapple.
    Cover with whipped topping and sprinkle with nuts.
