Cabbage Patch Stew(Lo-Cal) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    2 carrots, sliced thin
    1/4 c. instant mashed potato flakes
    2 c. water
    3 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
    1 large onion, sliced
    7 c. cabbage chunks
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    2 c. tomato juice
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown beef with onion.
    Drain and rinse with hot water.
    Add garlic powder, cabbage, carrots, bay leaf, thyme, 1 cup of the water and 1 cup of the tomato juice.
    Cook about 10 minutes.
    Stir in the remaining water and juice.
    Bring to a boil and simmer until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
    Stir in the parsley and potato flakes.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Has 280 calories and 4 grams of fat.
