Fried Corn Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. corn meal
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients together.
    Add onion.
    Stir in buttermilk and add the beaten egg.
    Drop batter by spoonfuls into the hot oil.
    Flatten the cakes and fry on both sides until golden brown. Drain on paper and serve hot.
