Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dark Karo syrup
2 c. hot water
1 Tbsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
2 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Mix first three ingredients (it should fizz).
Mix next five ingredients and set 1 cup aside.
Mix liquid and crumb mixtures together.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle top with the cup of crumb mixture.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
