American Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 to 1 lb. lean pork or veal, cut into small pieces
    1 onion, sliced
    2 c. cut up celery
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    3/4 c. uncooked rice
    5 c. meat stock
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 to 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Brown in hot fat the pork and onion.
    Add celery, green pepper, rice, stock, salt, pepper and soy sauce.
    Cover and simmer 40 minutes.
    Uncover last 10 minutes.
    Serve hot in shallow bowls. Serves 6.
