Buttermilk Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2 to 6 1/2 c. unsifted flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. water
    1/3 c. margarine
    1 c. dates, cut fine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. boiling water
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix in a bowl dates, sugar, butter and boiling water.
    Stir until the butter melts.
    Cool.
    Stir in egg, baking soda, flour, salt and chopped nuts.
    Put in a buttered loaf pan, 9 x 5-inches. Bake about 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
