Caramel Corn(Cracker Jacks) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

6 qt. seasoned popcorn (2 heaping cake pans)
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. oleo
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

Preparation

Bring all ingredients, except popcorn and soda, to a boil. Boil 5 minutes, stirring often.
Stir in soda quickly.
Pour over popcorn and peanuts; stir well.
Place in 250\u00b0 oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Stir while cooling.
Reduce salt to 1/2 teaspoon if no peanuts or salted peanuts are added.
