Caramel-Pecan Bars - cooking recipe

2/3 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
about 2 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease a 10 x 15-inch jelly-roll pan. To prepare cookie base:
In a large mixing bowl beat butter, brown sugar, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy.
Stir in flour 1/2 cup at a time, blending well after each addition.
Spread evenly in prepared pan.
Cover solidly with rows of pecan halves.
Bake 18 to 22 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cool in pan on rack.
